Background - Having a cup of coffee while reading a newspaper are two elements people associate with a morning routine. However in the recent times, readership of newspapers have been steadily declining. One main reason is that people do not invest in purchasing newspapers regularly. However, having a cup of coffee early morning, motly purchsed from a franchise such as Burger King has increased and become a regular habit over the years. This simple coffee cup has the potential to be more that vessel to carry a beverage.

 

Idea -  'Cup of News', A cleaner sticker will be printed with the day's news headlines and be pasted on the coffee cups that are sold at BK. The consumer then can have the coffee and read the day's headlines as well. If they require more information about the news they can scan the QR code on the cup, which directs them to the online newspaper. This news cup will elevate the everyday cup of coffee to a beverage that not only invigorated people during the day while making them aware of the happenings of the world on that day.
