Problem:

The number of people losing their lives while crossing railway lines has been a regular problem in Sri Lanka. The reason for such deaths, which occur mainly at night, is due to the fact that people don’t see or hear the trains until it’s too late. It is also impractical and not feasible to have barriers at every point of the track to curb this problem, however there is a need to give a warning to people about oncoming trains, especially at night.

 

Idea:

A gate is required to warn people, which can be seen in the night. The solution is to create a gate from light beams which will be generated from the oncoming train itself and will be directed 150 meters in front of the train, which will allow the people ample to time to get off the tracks.
